White Wine Sangria

White Wine Sangria

This summer try a Sangria that’s different than the original red wine version. The difference in this version is to mix in some tequila and use white wine instead of red. All of the fruits are optional, depending on your preference.

Ingredients:

1-2 bottles of white wine (dry to semidry, such as Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay)
2-3 oz tequila (high quality agave tequila)
1 orange, cut into chunks
1 pear, pitted and cut into wedges
1 peach, pitted and cut into wedges
1 apple, pitted and cut into wedges
1 cucumber, cut into slices
1 ginger piece, size of a thumb and cut into matchsticks or 1 cup ginger ale
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
4 oz seltzer or carbonated water
ice (optional)

Preparation:

Pour the wine and tequila into the pitcher. Put in all the fruits and ginger. Add the sugar, lime juice, seltzer and stir well to allow the flavors to fuse. Then refrigerate for at least an hour and add ice before serving. You can use your choice of garnish.
